A Message From A Board Member

As someone that cares deeply about the empowerment of women, House of Cherith holds a special place in my heart. It’s more than a program—it’s a lifeline for women who have endured trauma and exploitation. The HOC team meets each woman exactly where she is, surrounding her with love, safety, and the kind of support that fosters real transformation.

One of the most joyful moments I’ve witnessed is seeing the women shop at the House of Cherith boutique. Their faces light up with excitement and pride as they pick out clothing and accessories that reflect their renewed sense of self. It’s not just about the items—it’s about reclaiming choice, confidence, and identity. These moments are small but powerful symbols of the transformation taking place, and they remind me why this mission matters so deeply.

Every resource that HOC offers addresses their needs – physical, emotional, spiritual and vocational – and their wholistic approach is designed to help these women find a future filled with hope and possibility.  This incredible work is made possible with your support and prayers.  Thank you for empowering House of Cherith's survivors.

Colorado Bundles

This Fall, House of Cherith residents are headed to Colorado for a once-in-a-lifetime retreat. Together, they’ll enjoy horseback riding, hiking, worship, and much-needed rest in the mountains.

For many of our residents, this will be their very first time traveling—or even boarding a plane. This trip is more than a getaway—it’s a chance to experience freedom, joy, and healing in a whole new way.

You can help make this journey unforgettable. Explore our giving bundles below and see how your support can bring comfort, adventure, and lasting memories!

National Recovery Month

September is National Recovery Month, a time to honor the courage, healing, and hope found in the recovery journey.

At House of Cherith, we asked our residents: “What does recovery mean to you?” Their words remind us that recovery is more than freedom from the past, it’s rebuilding, renewing, and rediscovering life.

"Recovery means transformation to me. Letting go of the negative coping skills for transformative good habits that will benefit my life rather than take or destroy it." - M

"Recovery means celebration to me because it is a big deal! It means you no longer are doing what you were addicted to because you are recovered. It also means growth and opportunity to learn from your mistakes so when you go through a situation you will be strong enough not to go back." -E

"Recovery feels healing, it feels good. Even though mistakes happen I'm not going to let it define me. Change is necessary for progress. Recovery is a step closer to who we actually are." -R

Story of Hope

“Before House of Cherith, I was lost and in a dark place. I was constantly in and out of jail. I was sleeping on a different couch every other week, and I was bouncing from house to house. I was using drugs very heavily at the time, and I was even using an I.V. for over 10 years.

I was stealing money from people, and I was stealing from stores left and right. I was selling my body for drugs. I was truly lost and in a dark spot in my life. I was miserable and desperate for help. Thankfully, God saved my life.

Since being at House of Cherith, I have learned how to forgive myself and others. I have learned what co-dependent is and that I was actually extremely co-dependent on different people and things in my life.

I am starting to learn how to control my anger management. I am learning to trust. I am learning how to love myself and to live a life without self-harm and self-destruction. I am learning self-care.

House of Cherith is teaching me a lot, and I am so thankful God brought me here.”
