“I came to get healing I didn't know I needed but longed for deep inside because I wanted to live and not die.”
“I came to House of Cherith from a referral from another organization after spending 8 months in jail. I was arrested but not identified as a victim of trafficking nor did I know what that was. I came broken in many ways - over 20 years in addiction, abuse, pornography, same sex and bisexual relationships, domestic violence, trafficking, and so much more. I came to get healing I didn't know I needed but longed for deep inside because I wanted to live and not die. I wanted my family back and didn't want to continue to damage relationships out of my own hurt. I knew Jesus was going to meet me where I went and He did.
Since leaving HOC I have obtained a Master's in Justice & Administration and will complete a Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy this year (first generation college graduate). I have helped write new legislation in Georgia to help trafficking survivors have their records vacated or expunged and advised on legislation to help survivors have their name changed under seal (both laws passed) among other pieces of legislation. I am reunified with my kids and have great relationships with them now. I am 8 eight years sober this March.”
