Before coming to HOC, my life had no direction. I did not take any time for myself, and I was running from hurt and unkindness. 

I was running from myself. Hurt kept leading to hurt, and I was settling into except that this was my life. A lot of the hurt stemmed from my childhood, and I could not do anything about it. 

I brought the hurt alive and allowed it to grow and be a part of who I was and how my mind processed life around me. 

I was constantly running from one place to another, just trying to escape from more pain. 

While growing up, I was met with confusion, diversity issues, brokenness, physical, mental, and sexual abuse, teen pregnancy, and violence. 

When I came to the House of Cherith, I was met with love. I found love through others and through Jesus. I thank Jesus for bringing me here. 

I have stopped running, and I have a plan and hopes for the future. I am learning to surrender myself and to heal from the hurt that was spoken into me. 

After I graduate, I want to give hope back to others. I want to forgive those who hurt me, and I want to continue to heal. The rest of my life is given to Jesus.
