“My life before House of Cherith was lonely and troublesome. I was not in touch with my feelings, which caused me to be angry and lash out at people who didn’t deserve it. My life was not filled with love or support and I had no one to talk to. I had a “you vs the world” mentality and I wasn’t close to God. I felt like I was undeserving of love. I was lost but yet so hard-headed that I thought I was okay and had it all handled, but truthfully I wasn’t

When I first came to House of Cherith, I thought the staff was crazy. They would say things like, “I love you,” and it was such a long time since I heard that. I didn’t know these people and they didn’t know me either but they gladly took me under their wing, coached me when I needed it, corrected me when I needed correcting, and loved me when I didn’t even know how to love myself. They had faith in me from the beginning; it had been such a long time since someone was rooting for me. Every time I see a staff member, they always end the conversation with “I love you.” 

I’ve never felt so loved in my life. I love it here and I love the people. This place is slowly changing me for the better. ”
