“I’ll be here for two years on May 14, 2022, and I've been sober for over two years.”

“Before HOC, I was homeless, using drugs, and was being sexually exploited by a group of men. I lived in a community in the woods of Acworth, GA. I lived in fear of the violence around me. All contact with my family had been broken. I felt lost and alone, ashamed. This is my second time of HOC. the first time my psychosis was really bad and I ended up leaving. During that time I was trying to escape my boyfriend at the time and got arrested for going into a house for help. I was on drugs and had trouble communicating. I had been using EV drugs and had a very bad psychosis. I didn't know what that meant then. I also had very bad PTSD and didn't know it. I felt I couldn't trust anyone so I ended up going back to jail and when I got out I was homeless and sober. I knew I wanted to remain sober within a week of being out. I had called HOC and submitted an application to re-enter HOC’s program. I went to Cobb Stabilization to restart my mental health medication before I got here. It took about 10-14 days to finally get here but I've been here ever since. I’ll be here for two years on May 14, 2022, and I've been sober for over two years. My drugs of choice were meth, heroin, and benzodiazepines.”
