“God has humbled me and I found a breathtaking, powerful church home within the House of Cherith community.”
I was adopted. Adoption changed my path to today. I was molested and had to leave home early due to my issues with my adopted Dad. I started dating my kid's father. We later married with 5 children. Over the years, I began to get close to God, finding my biological mother, then soon after my biological father.
I left my marriage and began soon dating again. He passed away from heart failure. Trying to grieve death was hard. I started to spiral out of control. I had a very brief abusive relationship that later lead to a 2 1/2 year-long relationship that would turn my world upside down. He was found killed in his mom's front yard, later to be the reason my two oldest boys would be incarcerated for murder.
A year later, my 3rd oldest child went to jail as well. I went to rehab in Atlanta and returned home soon after. I thought I had it together with bright ideas and goals.
The trial was approaching and I became subject to a lot of street consequences because of my involvement with my son's murdering my boyfriend.
I found House of Cherith and my Pastor, Tammy Ross, asked her son to buy a bus ticket to send me back to Atlanta to House of Cherith. I arrived on August 9th and have had a spiritual awakening as well as seen the favor of God in my life. The trial date came, it has now been continued. And one of my sons was released on bond and went home.
Along with being sober, I have healed and grown. God has humbled me and I found a breathtaking, powerful church home within the House of Cherith community. This has been more than a road to recovery. It has been a journey of spiritual healing and awakening. House of Cherith staff, as well as the ladies I share a house with, have become my new supportive family. Thank God for the founder and the vision that God gave a soul to continue the saving and renewing of many women.
Amen
