"I am so thankful for House of Cherith. I truly believe God sent me here. I was rescued out of human trafficking in Atlanta. My pimp had tortured me horrifically! It was very bad. I finally came to the conclusion that I was going to run. So throughout the day I was being sneaky and putting necessities in my purse and when he went to the bathroom, I grabbed my purse and took off running. I was on Peachtree Street and running as fast as I could. I would run into gas stations and call the police asking for help. I couldn’t stay in one place for too long... Finally, I got to SCAD and there was a police officer directing traffic. I told him my situation and he kept me safe until House of Cherith could come to rescue me. The Safe House was a healing place for me. I reclaimed my dignity and self-worth. You guys took me in at my lowest and you all saw me at my worst. You’ll always have a special place in my heart. You loved me past my flaws and never judged me on my imperfections. You fed me when I was hungry, sheltered me when I was homeless, kept me safe when I was in danger, and clothed me when all I had was what was on my back. You loved me even when I didn’t love myself. You helped me get sober and taught me how much Jesus loves me! I was on the highway to hell, fighting for the best seat. I never want to forget where I came from because I never want to go back there.”
