“Today I walk in peace, and most days I’m in a world of kindness and caring.”
The gratitude I have for HOC is a wonderful thing. This time a year ago, I was in total despair. So I entered a treatment facility in my hometown. I had been there before and has some progress. I was there for six months and learned even more about my abuse and disease. I also knew that that I’ve been living all my life with negative core beliefs about myself. I had a very low self-esteem. They had a group on everything related to drug addiction and alcohol abuse, low self-esteem, and relapse prevention. But the one thing was missing, the best thing of all. Spirituality. I remember doing my own spiritual journey but with never enough time to study my bible. I graduated Nov 22nd and relapsed a week later. The pastor’s wife at my sister’s church got me into HOC on Jan 15th and it has been praised and worshiped ever since. I walk in the word all day long. My spiritual journey is fantastic, and I am closer to my Lord than I’ve ever been. Today I walk in peace, and most days I’m in a world of kindness and caring. Something I had never had or felt. I thank my heavenly father everday for HOC.
