A Message From Dr. Kelsi Franco
The year is off to a wonderful start at House of Cherith! As we move through the first quarter of 2026, we are already seeing powerful evidence of growth, healing, and renewed hope in the lives of the women we serve. Each day brings new opportunities for residents to build healthy habits, pursue recovery, and take meaningful steps toward lasting freedom. We are continually encouraged by the dedication of our staff, the generosity of our supporters, and the many ways our community shows up to walk alongside these incredible women.
None of this work happens alone. Every success story is the result of a network of people who believe that restoration is possible and that every woman deserves the opportunity to rebuild her life. Because of this shared commitment, the mission of House of Cherith continues to grow and reach more women who are ready for change.
As we look ahead to the rest of the year, we invite you to join us in this fight for freedom. Whether through prayer, volunteering, spreading the word, or supporting the mission financially, you truly are an important part of the story God is writing here. Together, we can continue creating a place where healing begins, hope is restored, and lives are transformed.

Looking Back at Rewrite 2026
What a joy it was to gather at the 2026 Rewrite Ladies Luncheon! We’re so grateful for everyone who attended and supported such a meaningful day.
Because of you, the room was filled with hope, encouragement, and the reminder that every woman deserves safety, dignity, and the chance to rewrite her story.
Together, we raised over $155,000, supporting safe housing, trauma-informed care, and long-term restoration.
Women’s History Month
This March, we had the privilege of sharing powerful stories from women at House of Cherith across social media. Stories of courage, healing, and transformation.
Each story is a reminder that restoration is possible and that every woman’s journey matters. We are so honored to walk alongside these women as they reclaim their voices and rewrite their futures.
Meet Brittany. Before coming to House of Cherith, Brittany was running for her life. She was trapped in abusive situations and unsure if safety was possible.
Last Easter, she found House of Cherith. Today, she says, “They saved my life.”
Now, Brittany has a safe place to heal. She’s learning to live again, see her worth, and believe her life has value. “They make me feel like I matter again.”

The Greatest of These
What if trust, rather than punishment, served as the cornerstone for rebuilding lives? The Greatest of These chronicles the journey of Pastor Bruce Deel and showcases the innovative, faith-based approach of Atlanta’s City of Refuge. This sanctuary welcomes and supports former addicts, sex workers, and gang members, recognizing their potential. Grounded in the conviction that no one is beyond redemption, this film demonstrates how trust can foster transformation, one life and one return visit at a time.
We are excited to announce The Greatest of These will be released on Amazon Prime, Apple TV, and Documentary+ on April 17th!
Story of Hope
“Before I came to the House of Cherith, I struggled with learning about God, my health, my mental health, and financial stability. My faith and reliance on God were not as strong as they are now. My mental health was all over the place because of the trauma I have suffered from the age of seven up until now. I did not have a stable foundation. I started a second income stream, or side hustle and unfortunately, that led me to the House of Cherith.
My highlights of being at the House of Cherith were being able to meet other ladies who were going through some of the same things I was going through. I learned how to live in a community setting. I learned how to use coping skills through self-love and self-care, how to change my perspective to view situations more positively, how to communicate and interact with others, and how to set healthy boundaries. Most of all, I learned how to create an effective plan, preparation, and routine in order to be successful and maintain a sufficient and positive lifestyle.
I can now honestly say that I do not want to go back to the past. Things happened that shouldn’t have, but they did, and I cannot change the past. However, I can prepare for the future and live peacefully in the present moment.
I find joy in living now. I know I am not just another body or number, but I am God’s daughter who has a purpose.”
