Allison’s Journey as a Fight Club Member
Allison, House of Cherith Fight Club member, is deeply rooted in service—whether she’s leading worship or mentoring kids at her church, she’s passionate about using her time and energy to make a difference. By day, she works as a tax accountant at Inspire Brands, but her heart for helping others is what ultimately led her to House of Cherith.
“I first heard about House of Cherith when a friend invited me to be part of the Young Leaders Board,” Allison shared. “I had heard of City of Refuge, but didn’t fully know what House of Cherith was doing until I got involved.”
During her first year on the board, Allison learned the depth of care that House of Cherith provides to women and families recovering from the trauma of sexual exploitation. It wasn’t just about housing or counseling—it was about full-life restoration.
“What really moved me was how comprehensive the care is,” she said. “They don’t just support women—they support families. There are moms in the program who get to have their children by their side while they heal. That’s powerful.”
Allison was inspired not only by the services provided but also by the women themselves. “There’s a through line in so many of their stories,” she said. “They want to give back. There’s a cycle of healing that starts at House of Cherith—and it doesn’t stop when they leave. They carry that transformation forward.”
After volunteering at a Dream Boutique day—where residents receive thoughtfully chosen clothing and essential items—Allison saw firsthand the intention behind every part of the ministry. “It’s not just about meeting needs. It’s about showing each woman her value and dignity.”
That’s why she joined Fight Club, House of Cherith’s monthly giving community. “Being a Fight Club member is a small way for me to do life with this ministry. It helps build the foundation these women need,” she explained. “I might not be there every day, but I know I’m part of the fight.”
When asked what she’d say to someone considering supporting House of Cherith, Allison didn’t hesitate. “It sounds simple, but just do it. Start small. Consistent support matters. It helps them know how many women they can reach. And this is such a real, tangible way to rescue and restore lives.”
For Allison, being part of Fight Club isn’t about a donation—it’s about partnership. “I get to be part of a story of renewal—and that’s something worth fighting for.”
