Debra’s Story of Hope

Debra’s journey to healing hasn’t been easy.

Her childhood was marked by trauma — the devastating loss of her father to suicide at just 16, and soon after, an introduction to crack cocaine. For years, she cycled in and out of recovery, desperate for a way forward but never finding lasting change.

That changed when God led her to House of Cherith.

Here, for the first time, Debra is doing the work for herself. She’s found peace, stability, and a new sense of purpose. She’s earning her GED, working a steady job, and rebuilding her identity as a productive member of society. Most of all, she now dreams of giving back — helping other women who have experienced the same pain she’s overcome.
